SERVING MISSISSIPPI SINCE 1967
Become An Agent
Requirements
To become a bail agent in Mississippi, you must be 21 years old with no criminal record. You cannot be a law enforcement officer, a law enforcement officer's spouse, or a practicing attorney — and you cannot be related to a law enforcement officer or judicial official in the county where you write bonds.
You must complete a 40-hour pre-licensing class, pass the state examination, and submit fingerprints and a photograph. The class costs $850.00 and is taught exclusively online by the Mississippi Bail Agents Association . Mississippi Bonding does not accept pre-license or CE classes from any other provider.
Licensing Fees
State licensing fees range from $40 to $100, paid to the Mississippi Insurance Department (MID) . The MID examination costs approximately $100, and fingerprinting costs $50. After your first year, 8 hours of continuing education per year keeps your license active.
